No more hidden speed traps, says Deputy IGP

SHAH ALAM: There will be no more hidden speed traps.

In a bid to be more transparent, motorists would be warned about traps ahead, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar on Saturday.

“We should not be hiding behind bushes. We should come out in the open and enforce the law,” he said at a press conference after attending a public dialogue session at “A Day with the Police” event at Selangor police headquarters.

The directive to stop ambushing motorists has been issued, he said.

He added that signs would be set up before the speed trap or roadblocks to warn the motorists beforehand.
